VoIP and Hotels (Part 1)

April 15th, 2006 · No Comments

The days of expensive hotel phone bills has finally come to an end. When VoIP was launched more and more hotels are now providing broadband Internet service to their customer so as not to be left out. Indeed, Internet telephone use is the next big thing.

With the use of a broadband connection provided by the hotel, users are now able to use Voice over Internet Protocol or VoIP in order to stay connected with their family, friends as well as their office. This sure is good news for those corporate people whose job entails traveling oversea. And considering the rate of long distance calls nowadays especially in most international hotels keeping in decent communication back home is proving to be a challenge. Although most hotels charge their customers when accessing the Internet, the price is still considerably lower than the cost of making just one 10 minute call to the US with the use of the traditional telephony system.

The Residence Inn in New Haven Connecticut is one of the pioneers in offering free VoIP service to their customers. And more and more customers are more than willing to spread the good news. Thus, the phenomenon is gaining popularity by leaps and bounds.
